Hollister Building Renovation - Lansing, MI

Major renovation of existing 100 year old building in downtown Lansing. Mechanical, electrical and structural engineering. Design included new fire alarm system with on-site emergency generator system, one and two way voice communication, stairway pressurization, new fire protection system including fire pump tied into emergency power. HVAC design utilized heat pumps with new fresh air supply for improved air quality. Structural engineering included analyzing the existing wood, steel and reinforced concrete portions of the structure to meet current code requirements which included extensive materials testing. All construction was performed while the building was partially occupied. Construction cost $2.9 million.

 

Dart Incorporated Building 2B - Lansing, MI

New 40,000 square foot, two story addition to an existing office building. Mechanical, electrical and structural engineering. Mechanical systems include variable air volume with hot water reheat, new plumbing and fire suppression system. Electrical includes site lighting, interior lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire alarm and security system. Structural systems include structural steel floor and steel roof joist system. Construction cost $2.5 million.

 

Lemmen Grand Auto - Coopersville, MI

New 29,000 square foot Chevy, Buick, Pontiac dealership including service area and show room. Mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering. HVAC design included vehicle exhaust and make-up air for the maintenance garage. The facility is a one story structural steel and concrete masonry structure. Construction cost $2.0 million.

 

Standard Federal Bank Data Center - Troy, MI

Renovation of 2,500 square foot data center within the Standard Federal Bank’s corporate headquarter building. Mechanical systems include new self contained air conditioning units and new fire suppression system to replace an existing Halon system. Electrical systems include interior lighting, power distribution and updated fire alarm and security system. Construction cost $500,000.

 

CASE Credit Union - Lansing, MI

New 6,500 square foot two story credit union and office facility with drive through banking. Mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering. Unique two story wood and steel framed structure with octagonal shaped clerestory. HVAC system includes furnace type units with direct burial below slab ductwork. Electrical includes chandeliers, parabolic louvers and down lights. Construction cost $900,000.

 

NDG Office Building - Petoskey, MI

New 7,500 square foot office building and material testing lab. Mechanical and electrical engineering. HVAC includes furnace type system with special high humidity curing room controls. Electrical systems include power with transient voltage surge suppression system to protect against damage from power surge. Construction cost $800,000.

 

Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater - Grand Rapids, MI

New 5,000 square foot outdoor amphitheater and terraced seating. Structural engineering for this facility included a 90 foot clear span bowstring truss and special slide bearing connections for thermal expansion and contraction. Construction cost $3.0 million.

 

Pathfinder Resources Women’s Rehabilitation Center - Kentwood, MI

New 14,000 square foot center for abused or addicted women. Facility has living quarters, dining, kitchen, lounge, classroom and administration offices. Mechanical, electrical and structural engineering. Commercial split condenser furnace system. Full service commercial kitchen. Power, lighting, fire alarm system, building security system. Wood framed construction. Construction cost $1.2 million.
